Comeback Monday Is REAL: TWS, TREASURE and xikers All Dropped New Music Today π₯πΆ
Okay, who planned this?! π Three boy groups came back on the same Monday: TWS, TREASURE and xikers. My playlist is fully locked in and my brain has no crumbs left. Here's the quick rundown. ππ€π§‘
TWS: "Call My Name" is a love letter to fans π₯Ήπ
TWS released their second single album TO US at 6 p.m. Korea time on November 2, and the music video came out at the same time (Star News). Fun detail: the album title sounds just like the group's name. Cute, right?
- "Call My Name" (λ΄ μ΄λ¦μ λΆλ¬μ€): the title track. It's about finding courage because someone believes in you. Jihoon said the idea came from the moment fans shout the members' names, which gives them the most strength (The Korea Times). π
- Youngjae, Shinyu and Dohoon helped write the lyrics, and jazz pianist Yoon Seok-cheol plays piano over a fast drum-and-bass beat. Soft piano plus D&B? It's giving main character running-through-the-city energy.
- The other two songs are "WE UP", a hip-hop track about dreaming of bigger stages, and "heavy", a synth-pop song meant to comfort young people who feel weighed down.
They're coming in hot, too. Their last mini album, NO TRAGEDY, was their first to sell a million copies, and they wrapped their first Asia tour, 24/7:FOR:YOU, in Kaohsiung on October 24, just over a week before this comeback. 42s, we're so proud. π«Ά
TREASURE: "SHOCK" brings the lightning β‘π₯
TREASURE are back with a new digital single, "SHOCK", out November 2 Korea time (Soompi). YG Entertainment calls it an electronic hip-hop track with synths and a fast pace, and the music video is all dark moods with lightning and flame effects (Korea Daily). Aura level: maxed.
This comes after their June mini album NEW WAV, which the agency described as the start of TREASURE's second chapter. Teume, the new era is SO on. π
xikers: "DIENAMITE" and a rock legend cameo πΈπ₯
xikers released their eighth mini album ROUTE ZERO : The CALLING with the title track "DIENAMITE" at 6 p.m. Korea time, then held a showcase in Seoul that night (Star News).
- Leader Minjae wrote, composed and arranged "DIENAMITE". It's the first time a song he produced became an xikers title track. Soomin and Yechan helped with the lyrics. Self-produced title track? That's a slay. π
- The album has six songs: "DIENAMITE", "Go", "Mask off", "One", "DUMB" and "Sanctuary".
- Plot twist: Lee Sung-woo, the singer of the Korean rock band No Brain, makes a surprise appearance in the music video during the guitar solo part. Minjae said the team wanted a legendary senior artist in the project, so they asked him directly and he said yes (Sports Kyunghyang). Iconic. π€
Fun fact: xikers are labelmates with ATEEZ, so if you love that big, powerful stage energy, you know where it comes from. π΄ββ οΈ
